Welcome to the Belgian Plastics and Rubber Institute.
The Belgian Plastics and Rubber Institute is a society for
individuals with interests in the Polymer Industry, or Polymer Research, or in
the teaching of Polymer Science and Technology.
The BPRI is affiliated to the Institute of Materials in the
United Kingdom, and has a close association with FEBELPLAST. The BPRI also has
links with other similar societies, not only in Belgium.
The BPRI provides members and their guests with a continuous
flow of information on changing technologies, new materials and products, and
the latest developments in machinery and processing equipment for polymers,
thermoplastics, elastomers and thermosets, by a yearly programme of conferences
and seminars.
Through these activities and social events the BPRI enables
members to meet others with similar professional interests, to learn about the
most recent developments from experts in the various fields and to present their
own developments and new products to interested audiences.
The BPRI provides both a professional network of contacts, and a
forum for discussion for those interested in the science and technology of
polymers.
The society was first formed in April 1969, as the Belgian
Section of the Institution of the Rubber Industry . When the IRI and the
Plastics Institute merged in the UK, the society became an off-shore section of
the PRI. With the later joining together of Polymer, Metallics, and Ceramics
interests to form the present Institute of Materials in the UK, the society
elected to become an asbl/vzw under Belgian law in order to preserve its
identity as a centre of polymer excellence. In its choice of subjects for
meetings and conferences, the committee makes every effort to cover as wide a
range of topics as possible in order to cover the interests of all the members.
By their regular attendance at BPRI events, BPRI members in
Belgium can keep themselves up-to-date with recent developments in their field,
arid have the possibility to establish useful professional contacts. |
